Our "Les Villaudes" parcel was planted in 1979 in Verdigny, opposite our winery, on a Terres Blanches terroir benefiting from a south-easterly exposure and optimal sunshine.
The fresh, generous Sauvignon Blanc grapes are harvested at optimum maturity. This high quality harvest is conveyed to the press by vibration, and the juices run off by gravity.
Alcoholic fermentation takes place in barrels, with no malolactic fermentation to preserve acidity and freshness.
The wine is aged for 12 months on fine lees in oak barrels containing several wines. The aim of barrel ageing is to allow the wine to interact with the outside world, but above all to express the terroir and uniqueness of this parcel by adding texture and finesse.
The nose is subtle and fine, with scents of verbena and pineapple. The palate is fresh, smooth and delicate.
Served between 10 and 12°C, our Sancerre Blanc Les Villaudes will embellish langoustines, foie gras, snails as well as refined fish in sauce, fine cooked poultry and chocolate desserts.
Cellaring : 12 to 15 years
